Instructions for Enrollment in NVCJA On-line Courses

The Academy’s eLearning courses are provided through our Blackboard® online training system. You must log in to your Blackboard account to enroll in these courses.

First Time Users: Contact your Training Officer or the NVCJA In-Service Training Section for initial instructions on how to log in to Blackboard and open any of our online courses.

All Users: Click on the link at the bottom of this page, log in, and follow the instructions shown below.  You may need to either print these instructions or toggle between this screen and the Blackboard screen so you can refer to the instructions throughout the login and enrollment process.

If you experience any problems logging into Blackboard click here, HELP

Once you log in, you will notice on the top right of the screen two tabs - one that says My NVCJA and one that says Courses. On-line courses and training briefs are accessed through the Courses tab.

Click on the Courses tab.

On the next page, you will see a text window on the upper left side that says Course Search. For all courses and training briefs, type in the initials NVCJA and then click on the Go button.

You will see a list of all available courses and training briefs.  Once you’ve found the course you want, look under the Course ID number and you will see a little symbol that looks like upside down Corporal stripes.  Click on that symbol and you will see the word Enroll

Click on Enroll and it will take you to a confirmation screen.  Click on either of the Submit buttons to confirm you want to enroll in the course.

You will end up on a screen that says SELF ENROLLMENT, ACTION SUCCESSFUL.  Click the OK button at the bottom right of the page (you may have to scroll down to see this button). You will now be at the beginning of the course itself.  Follow the specific course instructions on this page to begin the course.

Once you are initially enrolled, any time you log in to Blackboard® in the future, you will see links for the course(s) that you have previously enrolled in listed on your personal My NVCJA page.

Once you enroll in a course you will have 30 days to complete the course.  After 30 days you will have to enroll in the course again and start it from the beginning.
