About the course
This 4-hour course focuses on bringing the student-instructor up to date on the latest enhancements and developments in areas impacting effective instruction of EVOC related activities. This course also trains EVOC instructors in the principles, philosophies and techniques of teaching the EVOC’s law enforcement driver training curriculum. Classroom instruction and/or videos on the topics of Emergency response driving, special service vehicles and practical exercises will be used or conducted during the training.
• Before an instructor can attend the EVOC Instructor Recertification class they must show that they taught a minimum of 8-hours of EVOC training in the 3-year period of their current certification. This is a DCJS mandate and the Academy must ensure compliance.
• To attend the EVOC Instructor Recertification class, all instructors must have a completed Instructor Training Record Form (ITR) on file at the Academy. The ITR can be obtained from the agency Training Officer or members of the Professional Development Unit at the NVCJA.
