About the course
This course will examine the Constitutional rules regarding writing and serving search warrants. Students will learn the statutory rules in Virginia regarding writing and serving search warrants. Students will also learn the laws and cases regarding the writing of effective search warrant affidavits, including probable cause, presumption of validity, and informant reliability. Students will also study how to write effective warrants in cases such as cases seeking electronic/digital evidence.
