About the course

Target audience: Newly promoted first line supervisors and/or those officers expecting to be promoted
The First Line Supervisor is essential to the operations of any organization. This course has been developed to aid newly promoted or those that may be promoted to First Line Supervisor understand the role they play in the day-to-day operations and how to avoid some of the pitfalls that may come along. The course utilizes numerous instructors to provide a broad range of experience and expertise.

Course agenda and format:

Day 1 will begin with a conversation on establishing expectations and will be followed up with Legal for Supervisors taught by Elliott Casey.

Day 2 will begin with a discussion on the role of the first line supervisor in administrative investigations. The day will conclude with a block on performance management and the importance of documentation.

Day 3 will include an off-campus trip to the Gettysburg Battlefield for leadership lessons from a historical perspective. Lunch will be provided.

Day 4 will conclude the course with a presentation from representatives from NVERS for their course "The first 30 Minutes".
