Service Description

More and more, law enforcement is tasked with responding to people experiencing a mental health crisis. It’s important to know how to deal with situations like this because they have the potential for miscommunication and violence and often require law enforcement to make difficult judgments about a person’s mental state and intent to interact with them effectively and legally. In this course, you’ll learn strategies and techniques for responding effectively to people in crisis—how to assess the situation, determine your mission, attempt de-escalation, and use additional support resources effectively.
